Blog: Eating at the Jay Morjaria x Clearspring Supper Club
Organic Japanese food company Clearspring turn 25 this year, and are celebrating with a range of events, pop-ups and demos around the UK.
We joined 'plant focused' chef Jay Morjaria for an inspiring evening of Japanese food with a twist, creative dishes made with food from Clearspring, English ingredients and some inspiration from Jay's own Indian heritage.
Highlights included the senbei cracker loaded with pickled daikon and cucumbers, and the leafy kale, avocado and pear salad with a moreish goma-miso dressing. But the runaway star was dessert; a chocolate mousse (made with silken tofu) and an incredible miso caramel, topped with a genmaicha tea crumble. We'll be having dreams about that caramel...
Jay is currently the chef in residence at Great Guns Social in Southwark. The menu is not fully vegan but is 80% plantbased with plenty of full vegan dishes.
