What is the box and cutlery made from?
They are made from a blend of PP (Polypropylene) and wheat straw. Polypropylene is BPA free and does not leach harmful chemicals into foods or liquids.
Is it recyclable?
Polypropylene is not biodegradable, but it is recyclable at the end of its life. While we would love to have a fully degradable cutlery set, this would not last very long and our ultimate aim is for to use this kit in place of hundreds of single-use forks, spoons and chopsticks from on-the-go eateries.
Why is there no knife?
The kit is designed for using with on-the-go foods where you use a spoon, fork or chopsticks, and don’t usually need a knife, e.g. salads, rice dishes, noodles, soups, yoghurts and so on. If you find that you really need a knife on the go, there should be space in the box to add one from home. #forksoverknives
What size is the box?
Box is 21cm long, just over 2cm deep.
What is the straw made from?
The straw is made from 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. It is 18cm length to fit the size of box, and 8mm diameter, thicker than standard straws.
Can I put this in the dishwasher?
No. We advise you to gently hand wash the cutlery and box in soapy water, and not put in a dishwasher to protect the wheat straw blend cutlery and the print on the box.
How can I secure the box?
The box clips closed, but we do recommend using a ribbon, band or hair tie around it to keep it secure when transporting it around. There are two grooves in the base of the box designed to accommodate bands to keep your items nice and secure on the go.
